I am a Humanist attempting to make the world a better place for existence, be it on an individual or global level. If something cannot harm me, will not harm someone else, and will not significantly shorten my lifespan, I am more than willing to try it. I have a wicked sense of humor- if I like you, I will tease you (I have a theory that it stems from being the oldest of four). I am an English(ish) major in a world of scientists and engineers, I write daily, and I want to be a storyteller if I grow up. My current predicament is that my immediate, local world is filled with unlike-minded people who cannot understand my outlook on life. As much as I love philosophical and religious discussion, there comes a point when one wants to be able to hold a conversation with someone and know that they're not being judged or targeted for a conversion effort. It would also be nice to meet people that I may potentially be compatible with in the long run. I am looking for friends and/or more who share a similar outlook on life, the universe, and everything. And did I mention that cooking is the most relaxing and rewarding activity I can imagine, but I will never become a chef because it would mean cooking the same food over and over again. Why settle for the same thing when you can experiment with new things?
